Arni Dunathan

Arni Dunathan is the author of the newly published collector's guide, "The Encyclopedia of Marble's Knives & Sporting Collectibles". A comprehensive directory to history, identification and values of Marble's® products, the hard bound dust jacketed book contains more than 100 color photos and 173 pages.

Arni was born and raised a few miles from the Marble's factory in Gladstone, Michigan. He is a longtime collector of knives and firearms. He bought his first Marble's knife — a 6 inch Ideal — and his first Winchester — a Model '76 — when he was 12 years old.

He was educated at Northwestern University and Michigan State University and earned his doctorate at the University of Utah. He taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was named Professor of Education, Professor or Library and Information Science, Fullbright Professor and Teach of the Year. He return to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to teach at Bay de Noc Community College. He is the author of numerous reports including his best known book "The Ammerican B.B. Gun."

Dunathan's "American B.B. Gun" was origanally published in 1971 by A.S. Barnes, New York and London. The American Library Association named it among the top 100 popular technical books of the year. For the past 38 years it has been the standard reference to the history, identification and values of these historic toy guns, and has been reprinted three times.
